CULPEPER — The Republican candidate for the 30th District House of Delegates seat has received his party’s nomination.
Iraq War veteran Nick Freitas was the only GOP candidate to pre-file for the district convention.
“We are now focused on winning the election in November,” Freitas said in a news release earlier this week. “The 30th District deserves a representative that reflects the values that has made Orange, Madison and Culpeper ideal areas to start a business, raise a family and work the land. I look forward to carrying our message of greater economic and education opportunity and respect for individual liberty and property rights to Richmond.”
Freitas is chairman of the Culpeper County Republican Committee.
Longtime 30th District Del. Ed Scott, R-Madison, is not seeking reelection.
Democrat Stewart Risher, of Culpeper, recently announced his candidacy in the 30th District race. He is a retired air traffic controller.
